Le Mouretou : a coup de cœur !
In 2011, after a change in our life project , filled with a desire for nature, for rich encounters and for sharing, fate led us to the Mouretou in Valleraugue !
We had a real « coup de cœur » for this charming little campground nestled in the priviledged area of the Cevennes National park, on a territory registered in the UNESCO world Heritage site. We liked it’s human size, its location at the foot of Mont Aigoual, it’s easy access to the Herault river, it’s vegetation, and without hesitation we chose to take over the restaurant and the campground. It was a real adventure for us who were school teacher and ski instructor (Valérie) and monitor of tennis and club director (Fabrice), however we were very motivated and happy to be there. Even today we have kept this enthusiasm !
Our commitments
Since the beginning we are commited to do our best whether it be in the restaurant or in the campground. Every year we make improvements on the structure according to our possibilities, to always better welcome you ! The restaurant has a wood oven so we are trained to offer you delicious pizzas « home made ».
We are engaged in a process of sustainable and responsible tourism that we have materialized by joining the Cévennes écotourisme Association and by signing the European Charter of sustainable tourism in protected areas managed by the Cevennes National Park.
We have also become UNESCO ambassadors and thus we can even help you discover the wealth of our beautiful region.
The restaurant became “Ambassador of the remarkable site of the taste of the sweet oignon of the Cevennes », label obtained by the territory in 2012 through the association « Les terrasses de l’Aigoual ».
A family atmosphere
Our history is also a family history, as we have 7 children between the two of us, and the olders ones enjoy working with us in the summer.

Our quality approach
The official Qualité Tourisme™ brand is designed to guarantee that you always enjoy the very best of French hospitality and tourist services. In 2012, in line with our desire to engage in a quality approach, we have filed for candidacy to the region to be labeled Qualité Tourisme Sud de France. Following a surprise audit from a mystery shopper, we were happy to get this demanding and serious label. It is valid for three years and has been renewed in 2015 following the next visit.
2017, our ranking was changed by Atout France, the French Tourism developement agency, in the category 3 star tourism. This classication is valid for five years.
